Schooled for Scandal: How Public Scandals and Political Responses Are Changing the Corporate Landscape

In 2012 Richard Saliterman and Brett Larson of the firm, and Roger Magnuson of Dorsey & Whitney, presented to the local alumni associations of NYU, Columbia, Harvard, Yale, Brown, and Northwestern University regarding recent developments in law governing both private and public companies aimed at curbing and compensating victims of fraud and unfair dealing.  A similar presentation is scheduled in November, 2012 at the Minneapolis Club.

Richard Saliterman focused on the general policy shifts reflecting societal changes with respect to corporate governance and governmental regulation.  Roger Magnuson spoke about specific legislative responses to corporate fraud and unfair practices in public companies including the Dodd Frank legislation and revisions to Sarbanes Oxley.  Brett Larson focused on developments in Minnesota law regarding shareholder and business protection in privately owned companies and practice tips to avoid and minimize risk and assist in planning for both shareholders and companies.
